A recent email update from the Brunks:

Dear Brethren,
I'd like to give you a quick update and a request concerning our status for furlough.  We are scheduled to go on furlough in March 2010.  At this point I don't feel that the church here in South Africa is ready to stand on its own--we simply don't have the leadership developed far enough to do that.  So it is essential, in my estimation, that we have a replacement in place before we go on furlough.  If that means that we need to delay furlough then so be it.  If we can get that replacement then we will go ahead with furlough as tentatively scheduled. 

At this point we have one couple who is willing to help.  This couple, Cecil and Sonnee Hines, feel the Lord is leading them to minister as missionaries in South Africa and are currently on deputation to that end.  What I've asked them to consider, and what both they and IFM have agreed to, is that the Hines would come here for one year during our absence.  At the end of the year, upon our return, they would return to the States to raise the rest of their support.  At this point their support level is not high enough for them to come here for the year during our absence.  So they are busy trying to contact churches in which to present their ministry.  I believe they need either monthly support or special gifts that would finance their coming here for the year.  I'm trying to help them along a bit by contacting you.  If you would be interested in having Cecil contact you about a possible meeting, please let me know.  I will forward your contact details on to him and he will get into contact with you.
