Excerpts from The Champlins recent prayer letter:
We moved into our 3 bedroom rental in January 2007.  We retrieved most of our stored (1998) belongings.  The missionaries have not completely removed from Ricanaumoffo and we still have no place for my shop.

In February 2007, the International Academy of Suriname (IAS), a Christian school run by NICS (Network of International Christian Schools), requested Lynne to begin a new Pre-K class.  She taught 3-4 year olds until mid-May when a previous commitment took her back to the U.S.

During these same months we attended Winti Wai, one of IFM's Aukan churches.  I preached weekly and we enjoyed the fellowship fo the Christians.

Lynne also taught a neighborhood Bible Club and Bible daily in school.  In the meantime, I was getting our new abode livable and reestablishing contacts with folks I knew in Paramaribo.

The Winti Wai church began handling its own preaching so we attend a middle class Dutch speaking church.  I preach there monthly.  I have also preached once in their Javanese cell group in the evening.  The Javanese people need the Sranantongo language rather than the Dutch.  Four teachers from IAS attend our Enlish house-church regularly on Sunday evenings.  They come for a sermon tape and we share supper together.  Lately others have been coming too.

Now the 2008-09 school year is beginning.  Lynne will teach first grade again.  I was able to help the school get its new windows and security system ordered.  We have returned to Winti Wai by invitation of the people.  I preached there last Sunday, but will also preach at the Dutch church.
