What To Expect as a New IFM Donor

Your Gift Is Tax Deductible:

IFM is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to IFM missionaries or projects are tax-deductible as qualified by Federal and, in some cases, State income-tax deductions, as allowed by law, unless marked "Not Tax-Deductible".

Tax-deductible contributions are made with the understanding that IFM as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has full discretion and control over the use of the donation. IFM makes every effort to apply donations to a preference.

Personal Gifts to missionaries, such as for Christmas and birthdays, are accepted within a reasonable limit. Personal gifts are considered “Not Tax-Deductible” and may not be used as an itemized deduction for tax purposes.

Receipts:

IFM will provide you a receipt by mail for all donations. At this time, we are unable to email receipts for donations.

Each receipt summarizes your year-to date giving. The receipt will meet all IRS requirements for substantiating your deduction for support and ministry gifts.

In order to process any future donations more efficiently, you will be assigned a Donor ID. This number is printed at the top of each receipt, as well as on tear-off return slip. Including the return slip with your next gift, if by mail, insures proper processing of the funds. Be sure to make any changes in designations or updates to your address and

phone number on the slip. If you use another method to make your next gift, be sure to provide your Donor ID.

Year-End Giving Statements:

Your last receipt for the year will reflect your total Year-to-Date giving. This receipt is sufficient for filing your taxes, however, annual itemized summaries for your donations are available upon request.
